Next stop - Birds Hill Park, Manitoba!

We arrived in Manitoba on the evening of the 25th of June. The campground we chose to stay overnight was at the Birds Hill Provincial Park
The drive wasn't that exciting as we were mainly driving on the highway with a lot of flat farm fields around us. Just like the one below.

Camp food:

I decided to cook the pork chops we had, together with a box of white mushrooms and cherry tomatoes I also had packed. We added a few pieces of brocconcini cheese and some salt and pepper, wrapped the chops into an envelope shaped aluminum pack and put them directly into the fire! About 20 min later we had these beauties which make me salivate even now!!
The glorious fires!

When I grew up back in Bulgaria, my grandma used to cook a lot over the fire. I would sit and watch her make those glorious fires and I still remember how happy I felt being able to enjoy that time with her. Ever since then, I love everything about fires - campfires, fireplaces....the smell of the wood, the heat of the flames, the crackling noise and the comfort I felt. It brings all these memories back....!
The morning after we drove through Regina but didn't really stop because it was raining and quite gloomy. I managed to take this shot from the car:
