I love driving. I love driving long distances. We left Témiscouata early on Monday morning. I was happy that we had left only our sleeping stuff to carry back to the car as we no longer had the bikes. The drive to Rimouski was full of hills and valleys and quite interesting. There were not that many people around and the villages we passed looked almost asleep. We arrived at Canadian tire in Rimouski around 9:30-10:00 AM. We stopped to pick up our tent and had breakfast at McDonald's. We hit the road to Gaspé after that.
Words cannot describe the feeling of driving along the shore for five hours. Besides highway 93 or the Icefield Parkway (Jasper-Banff), this was the second most beautiful drive I had ever driven on!! We didn't feel the time pass –it was so entertaining. We got there at around 4:30 PM without losing ourselves. Yay!

We stopped at the in for Center checking and get would. The drive to the camping spot was about 10 minutes. I was very pleased to see that the number of the camp spot I had chosen [141] was a good number. There were other spots that I saw that day that were also good for our next visit: 146, 158, 160. Another good surprise was the lack of bugs! No mosquitoes, no flies, no nothing. It must be the salty air...I was not complaining and neither was Gabi! It made the visit even more pleasant! Later on I had asked about the bug situation and apparently there are usually none in Gaspé...Isn't that grand? :) :) :)

We put up the tent together– it was quite easy and manageable. I knew it would rain later in the week and I had learned my lesson – the tent was set up on the highest place of the camp spot and I also put a tarp on top of it and felt so accomplished after completing the setup :) The night came in quickly – we had made fire, cooked our supper and we were ready to go to sleep.
It got cool during the night and we had to zip up our sleeping bags to keep warm - I believe the temperature dropped to 11°C. We added an extra long sleeve shirt on the following nights just to feel more comfortable. It was a good night to sleep in a tent.
